Enjoying the Smell of Rain

Sat May 30, 2009, 3:01 PM
It's Saturday, May 30th . . .
First, I just want to say that if you are interested in coloring any of my line work, GO FOR IT! All I ask is that you give me link on the finalized picture with Credit for the linework and note me so I can Fav it!

Second, the rain outside smells so wonderful today. It always fills my lazy soul too full of creative jucies that I hardly know where to begin first.

I'll be up loading some rough pencil work today of some characters from an RPG. You've seen it noted in other journals, but go to :iconlunasei:'s page for the link if you are interested. Also, some of them actually made it to the inking stages, so they should be posted soon as well. Colors been super difficult for me lately. For some reason, I can just hunker down and get started. Make during the next thunderstorm it will be the prismacolor pencils chance to shine.

I also began sewing my college t-shirt quilt. It's about time, huh? Since it's been a year since I've graduated. I love all the blue and white. It'll be the best beach blanket for Tahoe if I get it done it time.

Oh, and I'm attempting to learn new languages. Although I really really want to buy some of the imported DS games (like Love Revo) a few friends have blogged about, I went ahead and purchased a German, Japanese, and Spanish language game for my DS. I think I'll start with the German seeing how I'm loving German Rock music right now and I'd like to understand the lyrics.

Finally, I've made an entirely new stationary set this weekend too. A handful of cheap bic pens, seed beads, double sided sticky tape, plain paper and food dyed soap bubbles gets you the cutest little sparkly pen and bubbled splattered letters ever. Great for cheap summer gifts.

Well, that's it. Stay safe. Stay Happy and Dance in the Rain!

Keeping Up. . .

Well, . . .

I guess I should update those who actually read this. Hmm, Let's start one month at a time:

In May, I graduated from the University of Nevada-Reno with a Bachelors of Science from the college of Business Administration in Information Technology with a minor in Economics. I know, the Economics is off (especially if you knew me freshman year and how much I hated macroeconomics).

In June, I was a BUM and began the horrible expedition of finding a job.

In July, I was hired on at a retail store to manage their receiving items and to play on their Oracle system. Yeah!

In August, had some family and relationship issues. Really. Who knew that a month of my life just . . well . . disappeared.

Anyway, NOW. . .

I'm back on the art scene. The greatest thing about my new job is that I have time to work on my art. I've been sketching up a storm and can't wait to finish a couple of projects out. I'm also being commissioned for portraits from people at work who've seen my work! Whoot. I love portraits of real, un-famous people. It's awesome.

Also, I've actually have time to Role Play again in an awesome writing club, Moon Dust Cafe. It's a real light environment and you can go at your pace. A lot of the people are in classes or have real lives too, so the speed and involvement is completely flexible and up to you! The people are great and some are incredibly talented. The only thing is. . . we are starting to shrink in size and need to recruit players on all writing levels. If you are into writing clubs or RPGs, check this link out and see if it is right for you. OR you can note me, comment on this journal, or note lunasei :iconlunasei: if your interested or have any questions!

Hey guys,

As you know I drew two pictures to enter into :iconguava:'s Magical Girl Contest and the poll have just been opened for public voting. The winner gets a year subscription. I encourage you all to look at all the entries and vote for the 10 you like best. (sidebar: I would be enternally thankful if you think that mine is somewhere in the mix - if not, that is cool too!)

:iconshimmerstar: is in the running as well. So at least put her in the running. She seems to be a favorite thus far and we should continue to encourage that!

Anyway, the link is here: [link] . There are two pages of entries and you vote by commenting on the journal.

If you've got a second take a look at the page. Guava's art is awesome enough just to look at even if you don't feel like voting.

Sweet dreams all,
-Bec

Freckledsleeper's Journal!

**********************************************************

So. . the 6th was my birthday. I one year older but. . . definitely not any wiser. I'm officially 23. I feel so old amongst my little freshman at school! Oh well, they remind me not to take myself so seriously! And for my birthday I think I will buy myself a subscription! With my next spare cash that is what I'm going to do. I think I deserve it.

I've a lot planned for this year. . .well at least up until May. I will graduate on May 16, 2008 from UNR with a degree in Information Systems and minor in Economics. You are all welcome to come to Lawlor Event Center and see me in all my glory (or at least until trip across the stage!)

I have only ONE, count it again, ONE 400 level class for my last semester. So hopefully I won't be so psycho come finals. Yeah! Lots of Econ classes, so it should be decent, right??

Let's see. . . .Santa treated me so nicely this year. I must have been good . . . .or he set the wrong girl gifts. I got a sewing machine. I started a quilt two days ago and it is so awesome! I also got the collectors version of Breakfast at Tiffanys DVD, my favorite movie. 23 years old and I'm still spoiled.

NOW. . . .on to the art. . . .

I've started a Paradise Kiss fan art. It's not much, but I couldn't get the anime out of my head!

I'm still finishing the 7 heavenly virtues to match the 7 deadly sins. I know, I know. It'll take forever.

Working on a fairy for a friend in the ResHalls.

And trying to color all those other line arts. Oh well, one thing at a time right?

Well, there is your minor update! Have a good winter break for those still on vacation and a great belated New Year!

Freckledsleeper's Journal!

Okay, Just a minor update.

I am currently trying to finish my Christmas Card before December. I will be uploading it soon! The ink is done!

I appreciate all the wonderful comments you've given me! I can not thank you guys a enough. You were all a diffinately a pick me up after I was denied the ART 201 class I so desperately wanted in. (He wouldn't even look at my profolio I prepared. . . grumpy old man). The good news is that Art 201 at a new by community college is willing to take me. So I may get to life drawing yet should I be willing to drive and give up my Fridays!

Oh well, good news is that I've been comissioned for some new pieces so hopefully you'll see them soon!
